Language: English (Regional Setting: English) I had SO run the other test, and here are the results: The fans are working correctly, but I'll run CPUID when I get home. The slots look different than for the 1 GB sticks so I assume this is correct. We did this at Geek Squad where we bought them. We did try to put in 1 GB (sorry about getting confused with MG) sticks in the slots formerly occupied by the 512 sticks, but the computer wouldn't recognize them.

Could it be that I need to install two 512 mg sticks that operate at the same speed as the new 1 mg sticks we installed to satisfy the graphics card? Or, should uninstalling DirecTV2PC take care of it? Or, is there something else I am missing?
I understand this graphics card uses the computer's RAM instead of its own memory. I previously installed DirecTV2PC, but am thinking that the graphics card is not robust enough to handle that so tonight I will uninstall it to see if that makes any difference. Please see below for detailed specifications of the card. This model has the maximum power draw of 49 Watt. The GPU has PCI Express 2.0 interface, and requires 2 slots on the motherboard. Because the memory is clocked at 900 MHz, and utilizes 128 bit bus, the effective memory bandwidth is 28.8 GB/s. That didn't help as the computer would not recognize those two sticks. The GeForce GT 430 embeds 1 GB of GDDR3 memory. I then reinstalled the two 512 mg sticks, thinking the graphics card needed that memory. Only the internet was totally unreadable, although we had minor wiggling on the desktop at times.

I rolled back the NVIDIA driver again, but that didn't help. That made the internet completely illegible, starting with the wiggling, then everything looked like jibberish. Last night, my SO decided to install IE 9. I thought it was because I previously rolled back to the old NVIDIA driver so I reinstalled the updated version. We started having problems soon after we turned the computer on at home in that the screen would get wiggly around the edges. We did, however, keep the old ones in case we needed them, but they were not installed.
We put in two new1 mg sticks that were faster than what we had previously, but the Best Buy we went to did not have any 512 mg sticks, so we did not purchase new ones. We didn't do any diagnostics to determine how many or which ones were bad. We have an HP Pavilion that had 3 mg RAM, consisting of two 1 meg sticks and two 512 sticks. After fixing the first problem, we were fine for a few days, then starting getting a BSOD.
